A visitation of bad luck upon
you can knock the props out from under you in a big way. It is so easy to think that our luck should
always be the good kind if we are trying to live in a way that we feel will
make our lives better with the least amount of chaos and trouble for ourselves,
but if you are trying to live by the dictates of spirit and balance, it is a
troubling fact that you are more likely to see more visits of it (seemingly) in
your life than other people do. It feels
like a contradiction for this to be so, because if we are trying our best to
take the path of least resistance it feels like a tremendous slap in the face
to learn that we are not reaping a life reward for that.
Many times we can bring bad
luck upon ourselves by being oblivious to the subtle voice of the spirit. Reckless behavior, ego, revenge upon others,
and a need to feel superior can all put you at risk for falling on your ass and
getting some bad luck. You may be your
own worst enemy where luck is concerned if you feel the need to throw your ego
around and put on a show of superiority to others. It does appear that people like this tend to
have the best luck sometimes, but what you may not realize is how much energy
they have to expend to keep themselves ahead of everyone else. Illness, insomnia, headaches, and extreme
fear are the usual results of a personality like that. Later in life they are likely to manifest high
blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks,
and cancer. You may not be able to see their troubles on the surface but it is
more than likely that these people suffer inwardly and outwardly from major
misery when they live for the thrill of outwitting and outsmarting others
daily. It is a difficult life path to pursue and maintain. But those people are
not your problem. Your situation
probably looks to you like a punishment from God or the universe. It isn’t likely that it is. What is generally the case is that you have
set a course for an event that will cause you to make a break in the path that
is the best one for you. Even if you
have the best intentions at all times with respect to your life and your
environment, swirling around in the universe are the makings of possibilities
which you may or may not be able to see no matter how psychic you are. When you send an intention into the cosmos it
already has the probability of manifesting in the material world in its essence. Good or bad, helpful or not, you have set out
the elements that may possibly make it so.
It is usually only those of us who keep a focus of good and right
intention that get the attention of those in the spirit world who have the
ability to see further down the road at what our desire or intention will
likely create in a ripple effect.
In order to keep from falling
into negative emotional states when you get a warning from life that appears to
be just plain bad luck, you will have to be as sure of yourself as possible in
that what you are doing in your life is
what you were meant to be doing. You
also have to strike a balance between self assuredness and open mindedness,
because if you don’t have the ability to bend and stop in your tracks when a
wake up call comes, you will miss the cues from spirit that can lead you to the
right destination beyond the hard slap of redirection.
People who live their lives
by the dictates of spirit as exclusively as they can tend to feel even more
chastised than the average person when a redirection of the self is upon
them. We sometimes arrogantly assume
that we try so much harder than others already that redirection shouldn’t be as
tough on us as maybe it should be on the big mouthed braggart who will tell you
that he or she has already figured out everything that there is to know to keep
their life just the way they want it. Too many times these types keep a tight
fisted reign on everyone around them to the point where they are actually hated
and feared enough to suddenly find that their redirection went so unnoticed for
so long that it took a prison term or a critical illness or even death to stop
the damage that they are doing to others and to themselves.
I wont say that it is ever
easy to deal with a bad patch of luck.
It usually requires the ability to be a spin doctor on the unhappy
situation that you may be faced with.
You need to be able to say, “Okay, that didn’t work. What am I missing here and what can I do to
re-balance again?” Even tougher than
trying to turn lemons into lemonade is the fact that you may not get your
answer for some time. Spirit has it’s
own time and speed when it comes to regaining the balance. You may spend many sleepless nights and
frustrating days before you perceive where you truly need to be, but there is
usually much subtle help given to you along the way in the form of dreams and
seemingly random thoughts that come to you.
A song lyric stuck in your mind is a pretty good indicator that you are
receiving spiritual input. Never
discount the urge to watch a certain movie or see a certain friend or go out
and buy a certain item. You never know
where insight may be. Universal assistance must be listened for. It can get you through the toughest of times,
but it is a fact that you truly need to ask for it. You can call it meditation or you can call it
prayer, but it does have to be asked
for. Ask, and then do your best to set your ego aside for awhile. Spiritual help may not knock you down with its
revelations. That usually only happens
with hard cases. I know this, because I
was one. Even then, because of your
stubbornness and belief that things should always happen the way you expect
them to, your bad luck can hang around much longer than should reasonably be
necessary because of a mistaken notion that things are supposed to happen in a
certain way. Logic is all well and good
and scientific principles work in many instances, but you need to remember that
the human race has thrown a tremendous amount of garbage and false belief on
top of the real truths. You have to let
go of much of your past learning gained from the “wisdom” of family, friends
and acquaintances. Your truth is yours
alone and spirit will speak to you alone about what is right for you
alone. If you can hold on to that belief
and not pass a quick judgment upon the answers that you receive, you will find
that much of the “bad luck” that is visited upon you in life doesn’t have to
paralyze you when it comes for a visit.
The paralyzing kind of unfortunate circumstances will be written about
in a future post. They do happen to even
the nicest and most thoughtful people. But for right now try to keep a good
supply of sweetener to pour into your lemonade.
I can’t promise that you will always like the lemonade either but the
taste of it beats the hell out of sucking on a lemon alone.
